The JBoss SOA Platform: jBPM, Drools and ESB
We have been working with the JBoss SOA Platform for many years, even though it has not yet been named as such. We have therefore taken part in numerous JBoss jBPM, JBoss Drools and JBoss ESB projects. This was often accompanied by related Java EE Technologies like EJB3 or JBoss AS. We are actively involved in JBoss jBPM and do official trainings in the name of Red Hat.
We considder the JBoss SOA Platform to be very interesting from a technological perspective, albeit with a steep learning curve. Often we see daring workarounds or wobbly architectures due to lack of experience with the technologies which are ready for download and experiments to everyone. What might be a suitable approach to learning and experimenting does not hold true when it comes to complex evaluations and applications. Here sub-optimal solutions and architechtures drive up costs in the long run (induction, maintenance, performance).
