Customizing processes in standard software is a requirements, not only the big vendors are facing. Hence more and more software vendors try to leverage BPM, BPMN or Process Engines to achieve this goal instead of building their own solution. Using an Open Source stack is especially interesting, because the components can be easily embedded into your own software.
