Best-Practice-Guidelines

You already learned BPMN o rare already using the notation in your projects? Besides the meaning of the different symbols the question arises how to use BPMN specifically in a project. We will help you with our BPMN-Guidelines to establish your own procedure concerning BPMN.

Typical questions which can be answered with our guidelines:

  • Which BPMN Symbols are to be used?

  • How to handle the choices of BPMN?

  • Which modelling patterns are to be used in specific contexts?

  • Which details should be modelled on which level?

  • How to achieve a consistent modelling design?

  • Where do the modellers get answers to all those questions?

Developed on the basis of the camunda BPMN-Framework

During the development of these guidelines we were oriented towards our proven camunda BPMN-Framework, which provides process modelling on different levels. Whereas on the first, strategic level the process is depicted from a birds perspective and in a very simple form, the second and third level are dedicated to detailed business, respectively technical modelling. Due to this very simple principle a high-quality modelling is assured which accommodates the needs of its target group.

Our BPMN-Framework is an ideal starting point for your own modelling guidelines. In this article it is described how for example the German National Library has altered the camunda BPMN-Framework to their reqirements (German only): BPMN bei der Dt. Nationalbibliothek

References to our Best Practice – Guidelines

After an outstanding BPMN training, camunda has supported us in a workshop in developing a BPMN modelling guideline for our specialized context. This workshop has solidified and deepened our BPMN knowledge and the modelling guideline enabled us to use the BPMN in an optimal and standardized way. We experienced camunda as a very competent partner in all questions about BPMN. I can greatly recommend the approach as well as camunda.
